These are some of my favorite places, people and things. Since I live in the foothills between Oregon and Northern California (on the California side), many of my pictures are from this area. I try to attend car shows, air shows and any events in Chico.

When it comes to equipment, I'm 100% pure digital these days. While I did use film for some 27 years, I sold my last film camera in 2002 and went with a couple of point-n-shoot digitals before purchasing a Canon XT in 2005. That was followed by several other Canon dSLR's up to the 40D.

After more than 30 years shooting Canon cameras, I've moved to Nikon. I currently shoot a D7000, using a Nikon 24-120/4VR and SB-800 flash. I've also added a Sigma 10-20/4-5.6 and for the longer end, I have the Nikon 70-300VR. Plus the other/better half is shooting a D40 and 18-55II and a Nikon 18-105VR. My most recent addition is the rather nice Sigma 150-500/5-6.3 OS. Decent lineup. I'd still like to add a Tokina 10-17 fisheye, a Nikon 10-24 (love the range) or 16-35/4VR (love the lens), plus a couple of short Sigma or Nikon primes (30/35 & 85) and a Sigma 150/2.8 OS Macro (looove the non-OS model - the OS one should be excellent!!).

If I win the lotto, I'll get a pair of D700's, plus the Nikon 10-24, 24-70 and 70-200 and 200-400. Till then, I'll have to suffer.

That all said, I'm much more of a gearhead than photographer. I know that. I would trade everything...except the (insert current body here) and the (insert current favorite lens here) for just a shred of talent.
