I got this capture during a huge firestorm that literally
surrounded our home. All around us, our neighbors had been
evacuated and we were simply waiting for the call. Once all
our prized possessions were in the hallway, I got out and took
a few snaps using the filtered light.
The smoke was so heavy, it left an inch of ash on the cars
every night. But during the day, it gave a soft, yellow
light. I used my 100-400 and that light for this shot.
