One of the most impressive forts of Northern India, Junagarh Fort, has remained unconquered till now. This fort was built in the 15th century by a general in the army of the emperor Akbar, Raja Rai Singh. A 986m-long wall, 37 bastions, a moat and two entrances fortify this fort.
The Suraj Pol or Sun Gate is the main entrance to the fort. At the left you can see the wall covered by the hand prints of the sati queens.
