John Duncan Jaynes (Sept. 18, 2001) John Duncan Jaynes of Sweetwater, passed away at 3:25 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the family home after a lengthy illness. He was a faithful servant of God and attended Beulah Chapel Church of the Nazarene. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He was 71. Preceded in death by: parents, Phillip Jaynes and Bessie Jaynes Skeen; sister, Volina Jaynes. Survivors include: wife of 46 years-Marin Dawson Jaynes; Aunts-Ruby Pettitt and Josie Randolph; Godchildren-Michael Dawson, Tim Dawson and Brent Harden; God-grandchildren-Travis, Alex and Cody Dawson, all of Sweetwater; Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were 8:30 p.m., Thursday, in Kyker’s Chapel with the Revs. Bill Dawson and Arthur Stansberry officiating. Burial was 11 a.m., Friday, in the Beulah Chapel Church Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Sweetwater VFW Post 5156. Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater, in charge of arrangements
