2007 Haiti Mission Trip

23 Feb-3 March 2007
we all gathered at the church at 10 pm on 22 Feb, left the church at 12 midnight and drove to Nashville (3 hr drive)
flight left at 6am (we were early so we ate biscuits provided by Cotton and Evelyn)
from Nashville to Miami then to Haiti (no big delays)
got there, met at the airport by Bill, Jim and Corey then to Bill and Martha's house for lunch which was wonderful. Then we went to unpack for our 2 nights stay at the mission.
Saturday we went shopping. Sunday up early and on the truck to drive 4 hrs from Petionville through Port-au-Prince and on to Miragoane where we got to get on the boat for a 3 hr cruise on to Ile de la Gonave where the real work begin next few days it was WORK WORK WORK WORK (see pictures below) oh yeah and more work (oh and some play time at the beach to wash the days work dust off). on Thursday we had to be on the boat to leave at 5 am, so up early (packed the night before) and another lovely 3 hr cruise with 4 hr truck ride and back to campus to go out to eat that night, Friday we went to the Baptist Mission in Kenscoff and Saturday evening we flew out and arrive in Nashville late at night with only about 1/3 of our luggage (rest was still in Miami)we arrive home around 4 am on Sunday morning and was at church by 10 am (not sure where the sleep came in there)

Hi! It is exciting to see all the photos of how God used your willing people to build a wonderful church in Haiti. Praise the Lord! My husband and I attend the Union Lake Church of the Nazarene in Commerce Twp., Michigan. My husband has been in the hydrogeology field for over 18 years. Curt and Beth Luthye came and spoke with our congregation about the Wells in Haiti project. My husband has been waiting for a special ministry for a long time. He feels that this is it. We are waiting to hear from Bill Dawson - but no contact so far. If you know how to reach him, please let him know that Cliff would like to go to Haiti and assist in whatever way he is able. Greetings from former NIVS to Haiti. We sure can identify with all your pictures, for we have been there and done that. We have been to the island too. We are happy that teams are starting to return to Haiti. We want to thank you for giving of your time to help build a church in Haiti. Seth & I spent about 4 years in Haiti. We would go for around 6 weeks to 6 months. We lived on campus and helped do maitainance work and go out with teams. May God bless all of you for your work in Haiti. Hey guy's, I've been praying for you all week, really enjoyed the pictures. Thanks Rachael for your special gift and talent when it comes to camera's and computers, you will never know how much you impact people. To everyone, God bless you and your work and sacrifice, to your commitment in going to Haiti for the upbuilding of God's Kingdom. Each one of you have been on my heart since the day you left and I'm spending extra tme on Sat. for the people whom I signed my name to the list. Again I'm praying for all of you . Hi guys, we are all missing you. The pictures are great. So far it looks like you have done a lot of sleeping, shopping and eating. Can't wait to see the working. :).
