Shoes missing? Compare this one with image # 10 above!

This image is of much better quality and it tells us a part of the story. What you could not see on #10 is that Herbert Maxis wears no pilots boots nor does he wear shoes. So where are they and why is the poor man lying there in socks?
While it is proven that James Wardrups father Vann, a wireman of the 739 FAB took the planes clock it has been told that he also took the pilots boots which where made of fine black leather and the interior was of red colored cloth. It has been said that Vann Wardrup has kept the shoes but decided a few years later in the 1950ies to cut them into pieces to make some kind of gun holster out of them.

@Guest: You are right. Herbert was 24 years of age when a bullet hit him in his head :(

Very upsetting to look at history and the loss of lives.
Think about how young these people were, their sacrifice and the vengance of the aggressors and the conquerers.
The terrible events of world wars with the loss of life.
