leferink family history photo gallery

My mother's ancestors came from the east of The Netherlands, an area called Twente, close to the German border. They were farmers, shopkeepers and tradesmen and came from the surroundings of Haaksbergen, a small village close to the city of Enschede. The Leferink's were 'honkvast' stayed at home, contrary to the wandering Bosmans clan.
I'm very grateful to my relatives and in particular the late Wim Wissink, for the enormous support and findings I was able to collect for my family tree.

ik kan me voorstellen dat je trots bent op je roots. Het is leuk om al die oude foto's te zien.
Mijn grootouders waren al gestorven toen ik geboren werd (1939). Vorig jaar zag ik voor het eerst een foto van de vader en moeder van mijn vader. Wat een belevenis!

My Leferink relatives came to the US and started a small airline that either was or became Wyoming Air... and that's about the extent of my knowledge. Since I don't know much about my own history I enjoyed looking through your collection and wondering if there's a connection there. Thanks.

I am so surprised to see so many of my grandmother's family in this series.
She was Catharina Francisca Leferink and married Johannes Hendricus van de Pavert.

Nice site, I found it doing some research. My husbands mother is related to your mother, her great-grandfather is also Berend Jan Leferink, who is also the father of Bernard Leferink Sr. as told in your first picture.
