Your eyes are drawn irresistibly downwards... when you up there.

WHAT can you say when someone tells you cheerfully that you are "right now, 1000ft up" and the only thing stopping you from splatting on to the footpath way, way below is 45mm of glass?
Well, words don't come easy anyway when you are swallowing so hard, trying to act cool and admire a wondrous view that includes the MCG, Government House, the cityscape, the Dandenongs and beyond.
The tallest residential tower in the world can wobble by half a metre or so at the top and how the floor on the Skydeck has been deliberately sloped and raised at different points near the surrounding windows so that goggle-eyed viewers tend to stagger around like drunks and feel the odd palpitation at the fleeting thought of plummeting to a rather breezy death.
