Details in my Old Birmingham album were often from the scribbled
notes on the back of the photos that were scanned into the computer,
but I have come across some rolls of developed black & white films -
negatives in other words - with no notes anywhere, and some colour
slides from around 1970 also without any idea of subjects' locations.
Please let me know if you know where any of these pictures were taken
and I'll caption them and transfer them to the main Birmingham Gallery.
The first image, Unknown Bridge, is St Vincent Street West looking from near to the Nelson Street school site towards Ladywood. In the background, extreme right is the old folk's home and to the left of that (just right of centre)are the council stables on the corner of Sheepcote Street. The stables were still there in 2003. The railway line is the main line to New Street - the old engine sheds were on the other side of the bridge.
