Remarkably well-made in China (the country, not the material), detailed
small models for something that was given away with McDonald's meals.
They were based on the models made by Ivor Wood for "The Wombles of
Wimbledon Common," from a book written by Elisabeth Beresford MBE and
made into a series of five-minute films shown on BBC-TV from the late
1960s. They were brought to life by the "voices" of Bernard Cribbens.
