Aston & Witton

Aston is now a suburb of Birmingham, situated North of, and adjacent to, the City centre.
Witton, the home of Aston Villa FC, is between Aston and Perry Barr but its boundaries
seem blurred and many Witton addresses are called 'Aston' by Birmingham City Council
and other authorities, probably because both districts have the same 'B6' post code.
To complicate matters further, the Witton part is also called 'Holford' in some lists.

hi keith. some months ago i asked you if you had any pictures of the vine inn that was in villa street hockley. was just wondering if you had come accross any yet. it wasnt demolished until 1978 but i just cant find any. many thanks

Hello Keith, Just wondering whether you have a brother called Alan. I grew up in Brantley Road and went to Yew Tree Infant and Junior School. The Alan Berry I remember would now be in his late fifties. I think he was the drummer in a band maybe.
