The Inside of a Meade LX200GPS Telescope

The photographs in this gallery are not particularly pretty but they are illustrative of the inside of the Meade LX200GPS telescope.

This gallery is here to help folks who have purchased a Meade LX200GPS telescope. You might wish to know what is inside your scope. The photographs are to familiarize people with the drive assembly and wiring in the declination arm and the base of the telescope. If I had opened up the base of my scope and done a cursory inspection of the wiring I would have been able to prevent a dead short on first power up of my scope. The Meade LX200GPS telescope does not have a fuse installed so the electronics are not protected. I have performed a number of repairs and upgrades of my scope and you may be capable of that too.

A note about intellectual theft:
I am a Professional Corporate, Aerial and Commercial Photographer and small business owner. That is the only means by which I make my living. Photography is not my hobby or a second job. I do not get a check in the mail once a month from a government entity or corporation. If I do not get paid for my photography, neither my family nor I eat.

No one is authorized to take any photograph from this site by any means for any purpose. Please understand that you work on your telescope at your own risk. If something goes wrong please don’t blame me.
