This is the front of the block turned upside down w/o the oil pan on. Front and center is the oil pump (silver thing with the big tube coming off it going to the pickup). The silver box on top of everything is the balance shaft case, with the shafts inside. All the way on the left sticking out of the block is one of the rod journals on the crank. The piston rod bolts around that with bearings and thats what moves the pistons up and down.
