To me, infrared photography conveys an inherent sense of detachment - maybe because of how it sees color differently than we do - taking something that's familiar and makes it less recognizable. By dividing the image up into segments and often incorporating an anonymous figure or figures in the frame, I hope to infer even more "detachment" but also add the element of imagination and curiosity for the viewer, who would then want to know the story or create one of their own, which would then ultimately help us "reattach" to the image and the bigger world around us.
