Michael Felts: Cary Felts Nov. 3, 1756 - Jun 14, 1840 Birth date from Cary's diary and death date from Chancery Court, Franklin, Williamson Co., TN; Aug. 29, 1840; "John Hill and Others vs Sally Felts and Others'; Book 14:579 You misread the 1840 on the headstone for 1810. You say it was built in 1886 but was used during the Civil War to hold and transport slaves. Civil War ended in 1865. The history you give of this house sounds like the same story I’ve heard for a few dozen hold timey looking houses. I am very skeptical of your "real history".

This house belonged to the Felts Family in the 1800's, If you walk behind the house to the golf course's 9th hole, where the green bends, in the rough is the gravestone for Cary Felts b1766 and d1810. There were other grave markers but have been lost/destroyed over the years.

Hello Nancy: This house has a lot of history actually. It was originally where the Kroger's is now. It was moved to it's current location when the Kroger's was built. It was originally built in 1886. This is actually only a portion of the original house because part of the house was burned in a fire back in early 1900's. Now for the real history-this house was a used during the Civil War to hold and transport slaves. There used to be (not sure if still there) on the grounds a tunnel that they used to secretly move the slaves. From there it became a hospital during the Civil War up until the end. Then it was sold and the new owners kept it up. Eventually they died and the house was passed down to the current owners. This house when I informed on is for sale and is on the historical mansion list here in Tennessee. I have been praying to God because I would love to purchase this mansion and restore it.

Ms. Diana, I pass the mansion everyday on my way home. I have always been curious about the history of the site.
