Johnson Creek High School sophomores Rayne Quest, Kendra Kapitz and Kylee Kastrosky washed fire apparatus for the Johnson Creek Fire & EMS Department Wednesday as a community service. A class assignment for all Johnson Creek sophomores in Mr. Johnson’s English class, the students are required to seek out an opportunity to perform three hours of community service. The students undertook the task of washing, rinsing and drying two fire engines, an ambulance and a heavy rescue truck, providing a valuable service saving department time and helping keep apparatus in good working order.
