Fire damages St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Watertown, WI
Historic St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Watertown, Wisconsin was severely damaged by fire 23-24 JULY '05. The prevailing presumption is that the blaze was caused by a lightning strike that Saturday afternoon, which created an opportunity for combustibles to smolder until it found enough fuel and air to burn.
St Paul's Church was built in 1859 and is listed on both the National Registar of Historic Places and the Wisconsin State Historical Society Register. (Click on these images to enlarge.)
