14 SEP 2010 - The Jefferson County Hazmat team was called shortly after 5 a.m. to deal with an accidental contaminant spill at Space Saver Corporation. The team is made up of members of the Fort Atkinson, Lake Mills and Johnson Creek fire departments. Located on the southern edge of the city of Fort Atkinson, WI, the spilled substance primary component was phosphoric acid. Indicators were that more than 300 gallons of the substance had spilled. Seven Space Saver employees were taken to the Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Two firefighters required medical consultation as well.
