Johnson Creek Fire & EMS Department was called to a truck leaking hydrochloric acid in parking lot north of Pine Cone Travel Plaza in Johnson Creek. Leak was due to a hole in a barrel of acid concentrate used for commercial grade swimming pool. Jefferson County HAZMAT Team was called in. Team consists of personnel from Lake Mills, Fort Atkinson and Johnson Creek fire department. JCFE EMS personnel took baseline vitals and was on hand for rehab or emergency. HAZMAT team found leaking barrel, contained (over packed), unloaded truck of other cargo, decontaminated, then went to personnel decon process. DNR, State Patrol, Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies and Johnson Creek PD assisted with call.
