The honey in the cappings if top quality, and I don't want to waste it. Using the cappings in this manner uses this honey, speeds up the building of comb, which sells well as it is of excellent quality, and makes the wax easier to rend.
I do not feed my bees sugar at any time, as I am fortunate to live in an area where there are always blooming plants.

Dan,
What is the purpose of jaring the cappings? Are they just mixed with water? Is this just a method of getting rid of the honey left on the cappings so that you end up with clean wax? Normally, beekeepers do not feed when the girls are storing honey for human consumption so I was wondering about the cappings.
Nice pictures. I enjoyed looking at them.
