April 27, 2011 Tornado at Cullman, Alabama

On April 27, 2011, a F-4 tornado ripped through the Downtown area of Cullman, Alabama and through a hisgtorical home district as several subdivisions. The path of the tornado was about 3 miles long and at least six city blocks wide. Through God's Grace and Mercy there were no deaths in the City since the tornado struck during mid-afternoon. Included in this gallery are photos of a sampling of the destruction and photographs taken as the F-4 was born just West of BeauxPoint on Lewis Smith Lake. From touching ground it traveled towards Cullman gathering energy and size.

I didn't realized that Cullman was hit. I lived there as a young girl, on McNabb Road just behind the Elementary School. The brief time we lived there are some of my fondest memories. I went to Cullman Middle School..6th grade in 1978-79. Can you tell me if the schools were damaged or the area around McNabb Road? This just breaks my heart. All we heard about on the news here in Brandon, Ms was about Tuscaloosa, then about Joplin, MO. Thank God no one in Cullman was killed! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Cullman is very dear to my heart.
