This bridge, built in 1915, completed the final link in a highway connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. It meant for the first time that people crossing the Colorado River didn't have to use the ferry.
Located at the historic Yuma Crossing, the bridge is still in use today.
The road here is known as the old California Highway 80. Highway 80 ceased to officially exist once the I-8 was built but you can still drive on parts of the road but you have to do some hunting to find them.
