"...Marist College, an elementary and junior high school, was commissioned in the early 1900s by Tucson's second Catholic bishop, Frenchman Henri Granjon.
It is believed that Granjon, a skilled architectural and ornamental designer, sketched blueprints for the building, according to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tucson.
The building was dedicated in 1915 and operated by the Marist Brothers, a religious order devoted to teaching.
From 1915 to the early 1960s, the building served first as Marist College and then as St. Augustine Cathedral School...."
The Diocese wants to turn the building into a museum and archive.
