Paintball Wars

Several of us spent an afternoon with a group of our teenagers playing Paintball Wars.
My mission was to document it photographically -- preferably without getting shot!
Here is my Photo Essay about the afternoon.

One First time to Paintball? Here. You can use this gun. Let me show you how to use it.	Two Before we start, we have some rules that you need to understand. The most important one is NEVER TAKE OFF YOUR MASK DURING BATTLE! These paintballs travel very fast, and if you get hit in the eye it could cause serious injury!	Three Our host and referee lays down the law.
Four Paying close attention to the rules.	Five Enough with the talk, already. My trigger finger is itching. That cameraman looks like an easy target.	Six She's done this before. I think she's pleased with the prospect of shooting some boys.
Seven The first contest . . . capture the flag. Trees are good for cover.	Eight Just try to get that flag and you're mine!	Nine I'm out! I'm out! Don't shoot. Hey! That better just be a camera that guy's pointing at me!
Ten Cover me. I'm going for it!	Eleven Making a run for it. Advancing the captured flag to the objective point.	Twelve OK! GATHER 'ROUND and LISTEN UP! We're going to try a different mission this time. First, let's go over some of the safety rules again. We want to have fun, but we don't want anyone hurt. DO NOT TAKE OFF YOUR MASK DURING PLAY! EVER!
Thirteen You know, I think that rule about the face masks is a pretty good one.	Fourteen You take the treestand. You're the sniper.	Fifteen Don't let them get around the East side of the lake.
Sixteen Hide behind the water trough and shoot while lying on your back.	Seventeen The battle rages on.	Eighteen For the next mission, we have to move everyone across the creek.
Nineteen Watch that last step!	Twenty Could I get a little help, please?	Twenty-One Get ready for the ambush. Here they come!
Twenty-Two They're over here! Open fire! Open Fire!	Twenty-Three Game Over. Head back to the house.	Twenty-Four We're not tired yet. Let's play on the trampoline! Watch this!
Twenty-Five Can you do this?	Twenty-Six Sure. No Problem. Now let's go ride the Four-Wheeler. The End
