Pocket Full of Posies begins
Our Dad had a green thumb. He planted something and it grew. Seldom did anything die. My twin sister Jean has taken after him. She delights in the planting of all kinds. Watch and see what all she has done. I hope to have a before posting. She has made her back yard turn into a very colorful and welcoming place. For people, birds and pleasant thoughts. Well done, Jean!
Two are better than one
Jean took the photo of these bright yellow daylilies and said they reminded her of the two of us. We've often taken photos of '2 flowers' and thought of one another. I added the verse since it is what it reminds us of.
Casting your cares upon Him
Seeing this delightful scene made me think of NO cares. When the stressors of life get you down, what a great place to come and soak up His Peace. Our Mom used to tell about "having to go up to the Shields's" when she was wound up. Too bad Mama didn't have a spot like this to come set a spell. I think we were too young to remember knowing if Mom enjoyed the garden they had in Ohio? Maybe our siblings will inform us of this question? All I remember of those "garden days" was the story of Barbara getting a 'corn worm' in her sweater and it bit her. (old story passed down)
The harvest is going to be plentiful
The tomato plants are busy growing. She and hubby will be enjoying nice red tomatos all summer long. I hope I can get up there and try them out too. I know. Maybe she can bring a couple of them with her to our Sibling reunion. Good idea.
Your toil is not in vain
Seems like the flowers are just busting with JOY. The long Winter is over and now it's getting close to Summer. One day I saw a product on QVC and it bragged to make your vegetables or flowers larger and more robust. I knew I had to get some for Jean's gardens. She has been testing it out and gives it a Good report. I look forward to 'making' a flowerbed at our house too. Wikipedia says, "A flowerbed is a garden area especially prepared for growing flowers."
