Orenburg, Russia

Orenburg is a city of about 800,000 people, and is located by the Ural Mountains range, which separates Europe and Asia. The river Ural flows through Orenburg. The boundary between Europe and Asia is located in the middle of the river.

Orenburg is the capital of the Orenburg oblast' (province or state), which is rich in natural gas. The country of Kazakhstan borders Orenburg oblast' in the South. The roads in Orenburg are not as good as in Moscow, but there is much less traffic, and the pace of life is more relaxed. It takes two hours by airplane to reach Orenburg from Moscow flying Southeast. The time difference is also two hours (Orenburg is ahead).

Wonderful pictures. I spent summer of 1994 in Orenburg as a visiting lecturer with Orenburg Agrarian Institute. Very wonderful people...very beautiful town. Would like to go back some day.

I have been corresponding with a charming and beautiful Russian lady from Orenburg since january. We have already met 4 times. We just could not resist each other and now we are planning to get married this summer. I was in Orenburg last week. simply beautiful !!! Russian people are very nice and I have also made a lot of friends. I have always been fascinated by the Russian culture. What a beautiful country !!

No, Russia is not poor. Russia is somewhere in the middle as far as the economy, compared to the rest of the world. But what is much more important, spiritually and culturally Russia is very, very rich.
