July 5: Zion + Summer = Crowds. It was a fact of life this day, although after catching my breath from the stunning drive through the east side of the park, the Angel’s Landing Trail didn’t seem very crowded. The lack of crowds probably also had something to do with this being one of the more strenuous trails that start in the canyon bottom. Unfortunately, we didn’t go out all the way to Angels Landing. Part of our reluctance was from the large amount of people already making their way to and from the landing on the narrow climb, and part of it was from the 1200 foot drop on both sides of said climb. Maybe next time.
The rest of the day we rode the shuttle to the various stops and saw the sights that were close to the road. We probably would have done more exploring if the temperature wouldn’t have been nearly 100 degrees.
