Toycamera and Pinhole Work

This is a selection of work made during the past 10 years. The cameras are not the usual Nikons, Rolleis, and Hasselblads, but the Holga and the Harrow. They are made of plastic, including the lens. They have very limited exposure and focus adjustments. No hiding behind technique here. You go with what you, and the camera sees. I tend to shoot from the hip a lot with toycameras. The viewfinders are not too accurate, so you just shoot, and don't worry about it. Chance often works. The 4x5 pinhole cam is handmade of cherrywood with a laser-drilled pinhole. Focal length is only 2.25 inches giving an over 100 degree field of view. I usually shoot Polaroid film in the 545 Polaroid back. I recently modified an old box camera for pinhole photography. The camera, an Ansco Jr. Press Photographer, has a curved, 2.25x3.25 inch film plane, which I assume was to improve the results from the el cheapo lens. It works pretty well with a 300 micron pinhole, giving a 2.25 inch focal length with a nearly 90 degree field of view.
