When I was a young photographer I began photographing people because they interested me. At the same time, I thought art photography meant grand landscapes in the tradition of Ansel Adams, or the more subtle work of Edward Weston. So I spent a lot of time and money trying to photograph like Ansel and Eddie. Sometime in my mid-30s I realized that my photos of human beings were my grand landscapes. It was right there in front of me. I just had to look.
