Paul and I did this classic, moderate, alpine ascent on Saturday, July 24. Other than being a little (ok, a lot) on the hot side, it was an almost perfect day. I was very happy to have my Jeep to get past the washout on the access road, since this would have added 4 km and 1000 feet elevation (each way) to the hike! After the long, dreary ascent trail of Sloan Pk, WA last weekend, this trail was a delight as it punched straight upward, gaining ~4600 feet in ~4km! The scrambling on the west ridge itself is nothing short of delightful and the surroundings for the final climb to the true summit are stunning. Awesome!
