After reading the new "Scrambles in Southwestern BC" book I thought I'd try author Matt Gunn's approach route to this scenic, short, easy but somewhat bushy (lower down) peak. I'm not sure if in the end I actually followed the logging road route described in the book but what I did cut off at least half an hour of bush thrashing. In the end the other side (highway 99) route is probably a faster route door from Vancouver (since the drive is faster), but it WAS fun to avoid some of the bush on the way up. In the end it took me only about an hour and a half to the summit, 1 hour of which was highly enjoyable easy scrambling.
