According to the forecast, the weather looked a bit questionable, but I packed my rain gear for both myself and my camera gear and headed out the door at 5am. By the time I arrived, the skies were clear, and I was amazed that the sun stayed out almost the entire day. Clouds were building, but a shore breeze seemed to keep them away from the airfield. The only weather issues were the fog bank that rolled in at the end of the day cutting the Blue Angel's demo short and a lack of breeze in the morning which resulted in a build-up of smoke creating a haze for viewing and photos. I forgot some photography basics, left some needed gear home, but all in all it was one of the best shows I've seen.
I really had the best of both worlds that day as not only was the sun out, there was also lots of moisture in the air. The jets were spectacular as they wrung the moisture from air! 6500 shots later, here are the best of the day.
