The Trawler Vita Nova Roa Island Barrow in Furness Cumbria UK

The trawler 'Vita Nova' has been lying alongside the Roa Island causeway in Barrow in Furness for some time. I have photographed her before on two occasions, but I returned today to find her lying sideways on to the causeway, presumably having been lifted by a high tide. I have searched for a trawler called Vita Nova without success apart from a Grimsby boat called 'Via Nova' , but today noticed that her stern bears some lettering that might spell out 'New Brunswick'. If she originated from Canada, her move to the UK is a further mystery.

This is the ex Z.588 Vita Nova
Built in Holland in 1967 and came into service in Zeebrugge in 1968
length : 24.80 m
Gt. 64.09 - Nt 19.99
Motor Stork - 495 Hp - 1967
Owner : Rederij De Pax Bvba.
Sold to England and became the WD.99 Vita Nova (Wexford)
