Message from Chris Kirk
I have been taking photographs as a hobby and part time occupation since I was in my early twenties, which was a long time ago now.
I am lucky enough to live in Arnside, and work in Kirkby Lonsdale, two of the most spectacularly photogenic places in the North West. Just pointing a camera at the scenery that passes in front of me every day is enough to generate fine images. Recently I have been using Photomatix to process shots taken in RAW format. I find that the effects from this, if used carefully, add more to the image than more conventional post processing. In particular, the enhanced dynamic range can improve an otherwise worthwhile shot taken in overcast or dull lighting. And in the North West, that can be a useful feature.
I have a website at www.bayphotographic.co.uk which has links to Fotolia.com, who manage the publishing rights to many of my photographs and Photobox.com where prints and photographic gifts incorporating my images are available.
I also blog at www.bayviews.co.uk on the subject of photographing the Morecambe Bay area, and at www.boatviews.co.uk about my boat Shrimp.
Thank you for viewing my galleries.
