The area around Česke Budejovice in the central part of South Bohemia (South Czechy) has the most plentiful examples of architecture of the so-called Rural Baroque.Nowhere else you can find together so many pictoresque and sumptuously decorated gables of country homesteads such as in South Bohemia.Rural Baroque and South Bohemian villages belong to each other.Holašovice is the most attractive example of the beauty of the South Bohemian Rural Baroque,an architecture based on using baroque, rococo and classicist building elements in the envirements of a village. Holašovice is on the UNESCO`s List of World Cultural and Natural Heritage since 1999. Many of my images in this gallery are taken in Holašovice which is for many an unknown village lost somewhere in the middle of the South Bohemian forests and ponds, for the others it is an unique reservation of historical monuments, located 15 km (ca 10 miles) to the west of Česke Budejovice.
