Palace of the Parliament

Bucharest, Romania

Built by Ceaușescu when Romania was a communist country, the Parliament building is the second largest in the world, after the Pentagon.
It is certainly not pretty but it is imposing and interesting.
Around the back of the building is the new Museum of Contemporary Art. Today on a wet Sunday, there were only two visitors, me and a chap from Austria.
Hardly surprising because there were no signs to the museum and the walk around the building was full of potholes and litter.
This old rusting car was near the entrance to the museum and I am still not sure if it was intended as an ironic art exhibit or really was just an old rusting car.
A bit like the whole city: lots of effort being made to modernise but missing out on some of the details.
The visit was worthwhile, though, some interesting art and I found an open door to a balcony with views over the rest of the building (not sure I was supposed to be out there).

And last year was for walking in the river running through Bucharest.
