I swear I did not place this old sheep skull. There it was on the rock in front of the ruin of Kilchurn Castle by Loch Awe.
I was there about 7 in the morning, under a thick blanket of drizzle.
The castle is very old, with the earliest parts dating from about 1450. Today it is a ruin but you can visit and climb some of the walls.
On a sunnier day there would be super views along Loch Awe in one direction and Glen Orchy in the other.
