Today I went for a walk around the grounds of Gosford Estate.
It's name is a corruption essentially meaning the ford over the river where the geese are.
And, indeed, this area of East Lothian is an internationally important site for overwintering geese.
There a several man-made lakes in the grounds, including this one with an old boathouse.
Unfortunately, we are still under a blanket of fog, so the light was poor and the sky featureless.
