PAD Cheat #3

When lost for inspiration, use something found in the back of the 'fridge.

This cherry is past its best but still had the necessary stalk to balance the composition.
I need to practice lighting to remove those hot spot reflections.

I actually like the soft warm light and shadows for a realistic still

I agree with Don's. comment. This looks so natural and not shot in a studio environment. The Leica 45 really shows nice colors and background too. V

Those hot spots don't look particularly blown to me. Most interesting texture on the cherry. Gorgeously achieved background. V

I also like the reflections. It looks like there is a window to the right and an incandescent overhead. These reflections give a sense of a cherry in its "natural" environment rather than a clinical studio shot. Chaotic reflections aren't so good, but these ones are nice in my opinion. ~V~

I like the fine detail and reflections in the cherry. I think I can almost see you as well ;-).

I actually like those reflections...! Its age lends it a certain patina, as well... -- although I'm not a cherry fan, really....
