Home is the Sailor

This is a back-lit picture of a lead crystal glass inscribed with a line from Robert Louis Stevenson.
I was given this glass a few years ago, when I provided some photographs to be used in the RLS festival held in North Berwick.
RLS often used to stay in the town, when his father was the engineer responsible for the construction of several of the lighthouses nearby.
Including the one on Fidra, which was the inspiration for RLS' novel "Treasure Island" and the focus of several of my pictures (below).
This line "Home is the sailor, home from sea" comes from RLS' requiem but is often misquoted.
To get the colour, I filled the glass with port, which is apposite because a port is where sailors 'come home' to.
Now all I need to do is decide what to do with a full glass of port...

That's a great story and capture, I feel very sorry for you having to find a way to dispose of a glass of port...yep.

My favorite is "The Swing" I grew up on a farm and the swing looked out over the fields west of the house.. How do you like to go up in a swing, Up in the air so blue? Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing Ever a child can do!
