This morning was spent with colleagues from HSBC Bank helping landscape a bio-diversity roof garden on the new build for Sharrow Primary School, under the watchful eyes of Brix and Morta. The idea is to create a variety of environments for plants and animals, 3 stories up. In addition to providing a space for wildlife in an inner city location, flash flooding will be reduced because the roof acts as a buffer, storing water from heavy rain and releasing it gradually into a holding tank. The water will then be used around the school for flushing toilets. Read more here about the project here.
