Arctic aerials 03

A few minutes further on and we flew over another large fjord with one of the largest glaciers that we saw on the flight up to Constable Pynt. As we were starting to gain more height at this point, it was hard to estimate how wide this fjord was, but I would guess between five to eight kilometres. The glacier was calving some massive icebergs into the sea, and in the far distance we could catch a glimpse of Greenlandís extensive ice cap which is over 3,000 metres thick. If all of this ice was to melt because of global warming, sea level around the world would rise by 6-7 metres, inundating many low-lying countries.
