The SFNO has had 5 production incarnations, as well numerous custom configurations. In terms of production runs, the first was a run of saber-ground SFNOs in the year 2004. The Busse Company Store offered an exclusive version of those that was extra thick (.27" instead of .22"), now known as a "fatty." 2007 brought the flat-ground SFNO. The NMSFNO was released in 2008, but is significantly longer than the regular SFNO. Finally, in Dec of 2008, Busse released a limited edition Hog-only SFNO, which was saber ground and satin-finished.

I have measured the blade thickness of the flat grind SFNOs at .20", that of the old Sabers as well as the SFNOLE at .22" or .225", and the fatty at .26"

The original saber SFNO run was produced with the old-school handle slabs, so the mag size slabs had the countersunk tubes. There have been some saber SFNOs produced since then, not as part of a production run but rather a few at a time, made with the newer handle slabs. A handful of these popped up at the April Knob Creek show in 2009, but some were already in circulation before then.
