A stroke of luck on our Tuscan visit was to find out that the route of the historic Mille Miglia and an array of five hundred new and classic cars was going to pass within minutes of our agriturismo villa accommodation in the Pienza region. We jumped at this rare opportunity.

A UNIQUE EVENT

For 30 years, Mille Miglia has been bringing together exceptional personalities to the world of sport. Today, the reenactment of the Mille Miglia is an event in a class of its own gathering cars from 1927-1957. Mille Miglia has combined tradition with innovation, and vividly colored that combination with creativity, elegance, beautiful scenery and the Italian way of living. This plethora of rich elements has made the Mille Miglia a symbol of Italian excellence all over the world. The course runs the 1000 miles from Brescia to Rome and back over four days.

The newer cars are part of a 'Ferrari Tribute to Mille Miglia' and 'Mercedes-Benz Mille Miglia Challenge'.
