For some of us growing up in southern California's 'car culture' of the 60's and 70's lead to a lifetime love affair with all things automotive.
Forty, fifty years on, as addicted and impassioned as ever, we find ourselves paying to get into Concours events to see the same cars we saw running all over SoCal in our youth. Only now thay are preened to perfection and lined up on broad green country club fairways for judges and nostalgia craving baby-boomers, seniors and a smattering of new, younger car lovers to savoir.
An addiction? Perhaps, but certainly a passion. And rather than fading with the years like a boyish hobby, it has grown deeper with time and the enhancement of fuzzy nostalgia for some great old times and all those fantastic old cars.
This is a collection of images of the cars that fired my original passion over forty years ago and many others encountered in the years since. Many passions fade; some only grow richer. ENJOY!
