Fourteen people joined the Photography Club on its second field trip, this time to the San Diego Zoo. Even though not everyone in the club was a member of the zoo, club members who were zoo members offered up passes to ensure that everyone made it in to the zoo without having to pay an admission fee during the field trip. Ben set us up nicely by mapping out the field trip ahead of time leading us from the Flamingo Lagoon to the Heart Of The Zoo to the Koala Exhibit to Elephant Mesa and down through Bear Canyon. However, the club mutinied at the bottom of Bear Canyon choosing to visit the Panda Discovery Center and lunch rather than head up Cat Canyon.
While many animals caught the eyes of our photographers, a certain brown bear seemed to be the object of this groups’ affection as the bear posed sleepily with its head on a rock and then strolled into it’s water-falled pond and sat in it as though it was a Jacuzzi.
At the Panda Discovery Center, momma panda Bai Yun strolled around her encounter eagerly awaiting lunch while papa Gao Gao and son Mei Sheng napped in the trees.
