George K., sexton for the LaGrange Twp. Cemetery of LaGrange Twp., Lorain County, Ohio, gives an explanation of how he and some other staff members are caring for and repairing damaged headstones. This marker was originally snapped off at the base, and a new cement base was poured and the stone remounted. His care for and knowledge of the cemetery is remarkable.

It was a transcription of this cemetery that led to the correction of the Sheldon Family Association records, in which Polly's father, Bradley B. Woodmansee, was noted in records as "Bradley Woodman." Missing the correct spelling of the name for some time led my research in different directions. It was the notation for Polly's burial record that caught my eye, "Dau BB & SM Woodmansee," where the initials were an exact match. This was later verified by researching US Census records. Additionally, when I noted this in November 2004, I went back to the cemetery to find her headstone, but lost my sunlight. Since that time, I had been in contact with the sexton long distance via phone. Her headstone was found and repaired. My son and I then visited in August 2006 (photo above).
