The_Beach__MG_2711.jpg

On the left is the boundary of one layer deposit in the tropic shale formation. This layer is rich in marine fossils. A dozen or more remains of a swimming dinosaur, called plesiosaur, have been found in this area. It is rich in ammonites and other marine invertebrate fossils.

On the right is fossilized sand that was once on an ancient beach at the edge of the Cretaceous Western Interior Seaway.
