White Mountain Petroglyphs

Over 100 carved figures etched into the sandstone cliffs of the White Mountains 200 to 1,000 years ago. One of Wyoming’s premier rock art sites.

It has a couple unique features different from other western petroglyph sites:
1-Handprints are worn into the "birthing rock"
2-Figures with strategically placed holes appear to be fertility/birth related

The Shoshone, Arapaho, and Ute tribes hold this site as sacred.
