First try.

When I first thought about this project, I was thinking of using the large image of Christ behind the altar as the main background image. However, as I was taking pictures in the sanctuary I found myself drawn more and more to the stained glass windows, and in particular, an area near the grand piano where a copy of the "One Voice" Hymnal accompanist's edition was lying. I was drawn to the interplay of light around that area, and since it offered a good mix of light and dark for use with the Bible verse on top.

You can see several alternatives I captured in the backgrounds gallery.

I chose this image with the window, book, and fern for my first attempt. It is different in that it is in landscape rather than the more typical portrait format.

It was my original idea to use a composite of the stained glass windows from the sanctuary as a backdrop for the smaller pictures, as well as a panoramic "stitch" of the mountain motif from the Life Center. You can see my first try at these, and these have remained a constant element of most of the future drafts. I think I have a firm notion to use these elements, along with a left/bottom arrangement of the smaller pictures. I'm not sure of this is the best choice, but it seems to have remained in all my ideas so far.

You'll notice that I did not include the full verse from Psalms in the version. With his background image and landscape format of this version, I didn't feel like it would work with the full verse.
